It’s winter. It’s cold outside. You need a reason to have some fun! This is a fun and easy idea for a get together! Hot chocolate is always perfect for cold days, but why not kick it up a notch?

First you need hot chocolate. I chose a dark chocolate to give it a rich, but not so sweet taste. I used a 5 oz square white dish to hold the hot chocolate. It makes for a really nice contrast in color. A small spoon or scoop will allow your guests to get started with their amazing hot chocolate treat.

Next up classic marshmallows, but jumbo ones! They’re not just for roasting!

Small marshmallows are great too. Just pile them up in their designated space on your board.

You definitely can’t have hot chocolate without whipped cream. I used another 5 oz square bowl to hold the cream. I like to place bowls across from each to give the charcuterie board a balanced look.

Hot chocolate can’t be too chocolatey, right!? I like semi-sweet chips and they look so pretty next to the lighter color of the wood.

On the opposite side, I used butterscotch chips, which adds a new flavor and more color. You could also use caramel bits or Heath Bar pieces.

Sprinkles are fun and festive! They are an absolute must for the kiddos. Chocolate sprinkles look perfect with all of the rich colors of this charcuterie board. I used 1 oz round bowls to hold this tiny topping.

What better to go with a fancy cup of hot chocolate and fill your charcuterie board, than sweet treats like these chocolate hazelnut tarts. They are so yummy! I picked these up at TJ Maxx. They have some of the best cookies and candies.

I also picked up these dark chocolate dipped shortbread cookies at TJ Maxx. They are simple in taste and look, and perfect for this spread.

Our last addition to the board are the chocolate covered pretzels. Everyone loves a little sweet and salty and the colors are perfect with the overall look.

I love how this charcuterie board turned out! The colors are natural and understated, but together they create a sophisticated look. Your guests will love creating their perfect cup of hot chocolate and the yummy treats to go with it! Here’s to getting through winter with a little more fun!
