Winter is not my favorite season and I’m sure I am not the only one! The days are short and it’s freezing outside. There are some good things about winter though… the possibility of snow which is beautiful and a fire in the fireplace. I decided to take those positives and use them as inspiration for a party! Why not host a winter party, even if it’s just for your family, to brighten things up and have something fun to look forward to?!
First, what’s a party without cupcakes and aren’t these beautiful?! I love the pale turquoise, which is the perfect color for this occasion. It makes me think of a icicles and it makes this party bright and fresh. I also love the variation in the snowflake cupcake toppers, which adds dimension and weren’t we taught that no two snowflakes are alike? You can find these on Amazon.
I love that the snowflake is silver and glittery! It shimmers just like snow and really pops against the color of the icing. I also used a simple white cupcake holder with a delicate filigree cutout design. It gives this dessert a light as snow feel, with a touch of elegance. You can find these on Amazon as well. The cupcakes are made of white cake to keep the overall look clean and cool like winter.
Powdered mini donuts are the perfect snowy dessert. They are white in keeping with the theme and powdered like fresh snow. They are also a crowd favorite. They are sweet and yummy!
I chose a vanilla buttercream sugar cookie to round out the desserts for our party table. I love that the look and taste is simple and classic.
A winter party requires a warm beverage and I went with classic hot chocolate filled to the brim with marshmallows! I also like to add a little bit of Baileys Irish Cream for the adults, it’s so so good!
A footed serving bowl with a small scoop makes self service super easy. Your guests can add as much or as little marshmallows as they like. I used a small cake stand to elevate the dish and give a little height to our party table. Our sugar cookies look so pretty displayed on the simple white cake stand.
