What says summer party more than a Luau?! This is such a pretty party to plan! All of the bright colors and tropical vibes make for a fun get together!
I love a sign that welcomes your guests to the party. Chalkboard signs are great, because you can use them over and over with every party you host. I like the natural wood that frames this sign. It gives it a beachy, laid back feel!
These painted pineapples really steal the show on this dessert table! Aren’t they fun?! I love the bright colors and the tropical look it brings to the party! Just buy some pineapples from your local grocery store, wrap plastic around the bottom, and spray the leaves with bright paint colors.
Aren’t these cupcakes beautiful?! This is such a simple and sophisticated dessert. Just bake your favorite cupcakes (or order them from your favorite bakery😉) and choose four bright icing colors. Then place a couple of edible flowers on top. I found these on Amazon and they come in all colors and sizes! I’m not sure how they taste, but they look beautiful!
Flip flops are a summer essential and these are super cute and yummy! All you need are some Nutter Butter cookies and icing in a couple of colors. I bought the small cookie decorating tubes because they have a small tip for easier application.
Fun, fruity straws to go with the tropical drinks you’re serving! These came from Amazon with several different fruits and colors.
To get your guests in the luau spirit, have a bunch of leis available in all different colors. Between the tropical straws and the colorful leis, your guests will be feeling the tropical vibes!
Guests young and old like dressing up and taking pictures, so why not set up a selfie station with lots of luau props?! Your guests will have some great memories to keep!
I found this beautiful tropical background on Amazon, which is prefect for a beachy selfie station if you’re not near the beach!
I like having something for guests to make and take home, especially younger guests. For this party, we made tiki mask necklaces! They are very much on theme and really pretty!
First you’ll need this tiki mask template I found on Sophie-world.com https://www.sophie-world.com/sites/default/files/tiki%20god%20template.pdf and some fine point permanent markers. Color the mask in any way you like.
Next you’ll need wine corks, mod podge, paint brushes, small screw eyes, beads (I chose wooden beads), and leather string. You’ll use a brush to put a layer of mod podge on the cork, wrap the colored tiki mask around the cork, then add another layer of mod podge on top of the tiki mask, and allow to dry. Next you can add the screw eye to one end of the cork and add the leather string. I added one round bead by running both ends of the string through the bead. Finally I added a long bead to each side of the string. They are really cute necklaces and the perfect accessory for this party!
Plan a luau for your next summer get together! The grass skirt around the table, the bright pineapples, and all of the vibrant colors make a for a beautiful party that is definitely going to be a ton of fun! Aloha🌸
